huge landslides appear in Nepal at every rain season and the only highway between the large cities get stuck in queues that reach a length of 100 km and more. Approximately 500 people lose their lives due to landslides annually.

At the tune of =/- 60 years , as shown in historic records Nepal expects a BIG ONE around 7 on the Richter Scale. The next one is overdue already. Nepal is ill prepared for such large calamities. HRDSN tries to establish a large Nepalese junior disaster squad in the next two years to come.

Every time when a disaster struck Nepal in the nineties, the then Government received funds from well-wishers around the globe. A lot of these funds went into the pockets of politicians during that time. Nepalese press was aware but there was no effective control in place.

Vicy von Haus Hollman was from Maastricht and given as a donation from Breeder Jean Koch in 1989. Now her daughter Britta is prepared to get used to the enormeous and deafening sound of a roaring Helicopter engine while she has to stay calm inside her seat and with closed doors. She performed very well and seem not to be impressed at all. It always makes HRDSN staff wonder how easy German Shepherds adapt to strange situations and how much they trust their handlers trough every situation or in any kind of very bad weather conditions.

Although robbing and murdering trekkers is very rare in Nepal, Kristina was one of the few unlucky exceptions. He body was found alongside a trekking path in Solo Khumbu /east Nepal by local policemen one week after she was reported missing.
